You know you're getting old when...

Speaking of little-guy:

I caught myself in the bathroom mirror at just the right angle, and realized that I am going grey with a bullet.

I glanced down at the counter and saw a Parent magazine.

Is this now my throne-room reading material?

I wonder if these things are related.

Now it's time for the Wills and Pensioner funds to be checked.

*sigh*

Hey they give character! Mine don't bother me at all! And I have zero doubt that my son contributed to all 8 of them!

I've been there. And I know exactly what you mean with the evolution of the bathroom reading material.

How 'bout this for getting old: making produce purchase decisions based on ads in the Sunday paper and planning your shopping and eating around what neighborhoods you're in on what day to get the best prices. I'm not there yet, but I know in the next year or so I'll be buying half my vegetables at Albertson's and the other half at Wal Mart. The other major grocery store in the area has the best prices on chicken, but Wal Mart's got them beat on beef. Outdoor flea markets always have the best prices on fruits, but they don't advertise in the paper.

Squishi - is this like social security?

Lisa - eight? Such an idyllic life you must lead! {snigger}

Kaci - thanks. I don't mind going grey, it just struck me. I really don't look in the mirror that often... in my mind I look like I did in highschool. It's just a shock to see yourself from time to time.

PJR - it's sad, really. Actually, I do quite a bit of "morning" reading, but I don't want to gross anyone out!

Yawn - I wish I were that industrious. We might have an extra couple of bucks if I paid attention to details like that. Might be able to afford a broadband connections. {sigh}

Pensioner fund = retirement fund = Superannuation = money for when you're OLD.

Whatever you guys call it.

KOM : rules that apply to girls... when we say we weigh 135 pounds it's actually 150, when we say we have 8 grey hairs... it's more like 18....and we say of course you can go out with the boys again tonight..we actually mean *but when I want that antique armoire that will cost 2499.00 we expect you to smile and say nothing =)

I remember noticing KOM had some grey hairs on his temple, and I said "Oh look honey - grey hairs. How cute!" He looked at me and said in all seriousness - "I don't have grey hairs on the left side". I kind of backed up slowly - no sudden moves, before I turned around and rolled my eyes saying, "Ok - whatever you say!" I was glad someone other than me finally had some! I too have had grey hair since High School. Although - I did start coloring my hair this year. Nobody noticed, which I chalk up to being a good thing. He took the news of the grey hairs on his beard much better this time. He did ask me to look at it too, just for confirmation. To be fair though - you have to have your nose in his beard to notice them.

LOL r @ "I kind of backed up slowly - no sudden moves" I fear the day my hubby gets a gray hair! Chances are he won't notice, though, and I think I might just not say anything!

I colored my hair for the first time about 2 years ago...I couldn't take the upkeep, though, so it went back to 'au natural' after the 3rd 'touch up'. When it gets more white than not, I'm planning on going platinum!
