Damn!
I had a controlling interest in Lacivious Polyphony at Blogshares, and my value had gone up something like 15000% in the last month. Then I accidentally sold it all. Where's the do-over button?
Don't get me wrong, I got a buttload of cash, and now I can invest in other blogs (I was down to $8.50 or so before hand). But all the blogs that I want to invest in are overpriced or off the table.
So, no one visit or link to my site for a few months. The shares should go down to a reasonable buy-back level. Then I can again own my own blog.
Is it just me, or was this the saddest thing that I've ever posted? Somebody bring me back to the real world. Somebody?

You can make money on a blog? I want to know just what this is, how it works, and what not.
That sucks. If you've got everything linked up right, I may have just made things a little bit better for you. :)
I still haven't managed to figure out Blogshares entirely, but someone gifted me with a bunch of shares in the Drudge Report, and it kicked my total up big time. Mind you, strange things then happened with artefacts and takeovers and well, I lost all the shares. But I got to keep the cash, so I figure I'll spread the love a little. :)
My own blog has had a strange ride, due to the Boing Boing link I think. The price got up to $1185.67 a share for a day or two there, and is now back down to $296.42. The P/E is currently at 273.06, but I do not know how to fix that... (it was at 1135 at one point, so I guess things are getting better).
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing on there, (there's a reason I don't play the stock market for real) but it's interesting just the same. :)

Marshal & Squishy, Blogshares is a fantasy stock market which "trades" in blogs. I don't get it either, obviously, or I wouldn't have had to bitch on this post.

I held the #1 ranking worldwide in Monopoly for 3 years... I would so kick ya'lls ass at it. Of course worldwide means my house with a 12 year old and an 8 year old. They both have started whipping me like I was stoopid though....

I made a killing on the Hairy Pothead movies - I made $2m in one day :)
Btw - I'd eat you for lunch over a monopoly game - i've trained with the best and the most competitive player in the world - my father. He has a very very original 1st edition monopoly game (pre-fancy counters even, with wooden red houses and green hotels) and well, yeah, i'd beat you all in a second.
That's it. Someone please tell me where we can play Monopoly online.

I've accidentally done that befoe too. Just buy up a bunch of cheap blogs (like 3K shares in each, sell them off slowly 100-500 shares at a time) until you max out the PE. Then dump 'em and buy your own shares back.
